Hummingbird Lost, Hummingbird Found

I woke up as the sun was shining out on the ocean. The sun comes up behind the house, over the hillside where the kitchen/dining part of the house is. So there's morning sun in the house very early. About the same time it hits the house in summertime, it's reflecting out on the sea. I was standing in the veranda doorway, looking out at the ocean, and a hummingbird zipped right in front of me, and then left to hide somewhere.

I went in the house to get my lovely camera, and, of course, he was still gone. But I sat down next to the hibiscus plants, which are covered with blossoms right now, and he came back. Naturally, I couldn't remember how set the camera, and by the time I finished fidgeting around chosing up the right settings, he had zipped away. Or she. Rats.

But the butterflies are starting to show up, so I will practice on them. Erik found a website with basic lessons on taking photos with your digital (or film) camera. I learned alot but I don't know if I will be able to incorporate the ideas very quickly. There were six suggestions, and of course, right now, I can't remember one of them. Oh wait, cropping, rule of 3, details. Well, three out of six isn't bad for an old brain.

I am intending to start more babies from the succulent with the pink edges this morning. Then this afternoon we are going to have pescadero sarend....... (cooked over the wood grill fish) for comida and then off to Markitos's 3rd birthday party.

Aren't you going to tell the name of the photography site? I need help, too.
